the original is the first model to come out of walter hoy̻s workshop in 1944, the original salt-water sandal is defined by its little way stitched rubber sole and plaited leather upper. all salt-waters come with rust proof buckles, can be worn in the water (even in the sea) and can be handwashed with a gentle detergent. the red salt-water is one of the most popular colours and is the perfect summer sandal for all.
the sandal is very roomy. fits comfortably wide. before you put them on for the first time, stretch out the toe straps and gently bend the sole to ease. best fitted with toes behind the stitch line.
we recommend going up +1 in the salt-water original. if you are in between sizes you may find only +1 is still roomy enough e.g a EUR 38.5 would be okay in a salt-water 39.
